Allianz Trade: The global economy
has emerged from a year and a half of
commercial stagnation
Allianz Trade updated its Global Economic Outlook Report with data for the end of 2024.
According to the report, while some areas show continued improvements, “belt-tightening”
measures are expected to persist. Allianz Trade economists predict that interest rates
will remain high for an extended period. On the positive side, companies have started
restocking, which is expected to support the recovery in global trade. The data confirms
that the first half of 2024 marks the end of a 1.5-year period of commercial stagnation.
