Cirque du Soleil, considered the world’s largest circus company in the field of circus arts, is
coming to Istanbul with OVO, one of its biggest and most spectacular productions to date. The
renowned troupe will be at Ülker Arena in Istanbul with 8 performances between May 21–24,
2026.

Known for presenting unique worlds in each of its shows, the company now brings us together
with the colorful ecosystem of nature and insects through OVO, inviting us into the hidden world
of nature, dazzling our eyes, and thrilling our hearts with breathtaking acrobatic performances.
OVO introduces audiences to miniature worlds and invites them to see life through their eyes.

With the high-energy and excitement-filled show OVO—meaning “egg” in Portuguese—Cirque du Soleil brings together the power
of nature and the magical world of insects through movement, color, and acrobatics.

Founded in the 1980s by Gilles Ste-Croix, the troupe—composed of performers—held its first performances on the streets of
Quebec. At that time, the group was known as “Les Echassiers.” The members decided that their street performances were ready
to be presented to a wider audience. In 1984, during the celebrations of the 450th anniversary of Canada’s discovery by Jacques
Cartier, this highly talented, street-born troupe attracted nationwide attention with their performances and achieved great success.
The group then changed its name to “Cirque du Soleil.” Explaining the reason behind this change, member Guy Laliberté stated:
“The sun symbolizes youth, energy, and strength.”
