A rich selection of miniature objects that have held religious and cultural significance from Ancient Egypt to the present day awaits
visitors at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum. Crafted with meticulous detail and remarkable craftsmanship, these miniature objects offer
a mesmerizing experience that transports visitors on a journey through time.
The World’s Smallest Toy Train
The museum’s collection features numerous miniature objects, ranging from the world’s smallest train set and everyday items to
transportation vehicles and dolls that can only be seen with a magnifying glass.
One of the highlights is a tin toy train station produced by Gebruder Bing in the 1920s, measuring 42 cm in length and 19.9 cm in
width. Another remarkable example is a fully functional steam engine measuring just 52 cm. Among the thousands of miniature
objects in the museum are items such as sewing machines, bicycles,
and birdcages.
Flawless in Every Detail
One of the most captivating pieces in the museum is the “18th Cen-
tury Ottoman Coffeehouse,” meticulously crafted in every detail by
American artist Henry Kupjack, one of the living masters of minia-
ture art. This coffeehouse, modeled down to accessories the size of a
pinhead, was created at the request of Rahmi M. Koç and gifted to
the museum by Kupjack himself.
The miniature versions of everyday household items on display in-
spire awe. Among them are miniature cookware sets, sewing ma-
chines, porcelain sets, birdcages, and musical instruments such as
violins and pianos—nearly everything you can imagine.
