American multidisciplinary artist Doug Aitken, one of the prom-
inent figures in contemporary art, will meet art lovers in Turkey
with his first exhibition at Borusan Contemporary in September.
Aitken, who has received prestigious awards such as the Golden
Lion at the Venice Biennale and the Nam June Paik Art Center,
will showcase a monographic exhibition curated by Jérôme Sans
at Borusan Contemporary. This exhibition will take visitors on
a site-specific journey with works spanning from 2007 to 2024,
offering an extraordinary reflection of modern life.

At the opening of the new cultural art season, Borusan Contem-
porary invites art enthusiasts to embark on a memorable journey
with Doug Aitken, one of the leading figures in contemporary art.
Since the 1990s, American multidisciplinary artist Doug Aitken
has pushed the boundaries of all forms in which art can exist. He
presents a narrative that explores the complexities and contradictions of hyper-connectivity, which has become synonymous with
contemporary existence, examining the meaning of freedom in globalized neoliberal societies and the impact of all these factors
on individual isolation. Under the curatorship of Jérôme Sans, one of the respected curators in contemporary art, the mono-
graphic exhibition will depict the human condition in today’s world, bringing together works from Aitken’s career spanning from
2007 to 2024. The exhibition, which showcases Aitken’s artistic practice that masterfully utilizes different mediums by creating
experiential spaces, will transform visitors from passive observers into participants who interact with both other visitors and the
rhythm of the space they inhabit.

Including a site-specific installation produced for the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection, the exhibition invites visitors to
establish a close connection with Aitken’s extraordinary world and to experience an impactful journey.

The Genius of the Renaissance: Leonardo Da Vinci
Discovery Exhibition at Istanbul Lale Museum

The Renaissance Genius Leonardo Da Vinci Discovery Exhibition, prepared by the Istanbul Lale Museum, will meet art lovers as
part of the Culture Route Festival from September 28 to January 15 at the Istanbul Lale Museum. The exhibition features 108
models of discoveries and inventions, 28 usable inventions, and Da Vinci’s work in fields such as medicine, architecture, engineer-
ing, defense industry, anatomy, and gastronomy.

Expanded with additional events, the exhibition will be open every day from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM between September 28, 2024,
and January 15, 2025, at the Istanbul Lale Museum in Emirgan.
