AXA Sigorta Provides Three Years of Support for Young Para Athletes on Their Journey to Los Angeles 2028

AXA Sigorta and the Turkish National Paralympic Committee have launched a three-year values partnership aimed at supporting the development of young para athletes. As part of the partnership, young athletes preparing for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games will be selected and supported throughout their development journey.

Continuing its unwavering support for sports and athletes in line with its vision of sustainable growth, social contribution and inclusivity, AXA Sigorta has signed a three-year values partnership with Turkish National Paralympic Committee, aimed at nurturing young para athletes and supporting their goals of achieving international success.

Under the program launched by AXA Sigorta and TMPK, young athletes with development potential will be jointly identified during the preparation process for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. The selected athletes will receive financial support throughout their preparation, contributing to their sporting development and their journey towards competing on the international stage.

“We Are Very Excited to Stand by Our Paralympic Athletes”

Speaking at the signing ceremony, AXA Sigorta CEO Yavuz Ölken highlighted the Company’s people-centered and inclusive approach, saying:

“We are aware of the challenges young people face in sports; however, the barriers and challenges faced by our athletes under the Paralympic umbrella are very different and far greater. With this in mind, as AXA Sigorta, we decided to make use of all our resources and collaborate with Turkish National Paralympic Committee. Following our para-rowing athlete Yiğit, we are now together with Meryem, our para-athletics athlete who has recently joined the AXA Sigorta family. Meryem’s addition to our family has further strengthened our belief and determination on this journey. Together with our entire team, we are filled with great excitement. The AXA Sigorta community is not made up solely of its employees; together with our agencies and the entire ecosystem, it is a very large organization. We are determined to use this strength to stand by our Paralympic athletes and make their voices heard. I would like to sincerely thank Murat Aksu, President of Turkish National Paralympic Committee, and his entire team for bringing us together for such a meaningful mission.”

Murat Aksu, President of Turkish National Paralympic Committee, shared his assessment of the partnership as follows:

“We see the agreement we signed with AXA Sigorta today as much more than a conventional sponsorship agreement. This is because this partnership is centered not only on sporting success, but also on touching people’s lives, strengthening inclusivity and creating a long-term development environment for our athletes. The sincere approach demonstrated by my dear friend Yavuz Ölken from the very beginning of this process, together with our shared values, has made this partnership particularly valuable to us. In this journey with AXA Sigorta, which began with Avrupa Para Yüzme Şampiyonası (the European Para Swimming Championships) and will continue through the end of 2028, AXA Sigorta will be one of the strong partners supporting our athletes throughout their development journey.

“We have a very important goal ahead of us: to participate in the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games with the highest possible number of athletes and to place Türkiye among the world’s most successful Paralympic nations. Achieving this requires providing our athletes with confidence, continuity and the right opportunities. For this reason, we see AXA Sigorta’s support not merely as an investment in today’s achievements, but as a strong expression of confidence in the future of the Turkish Paralympic movement. On behalf of the Turkish National Paralympic Committee and our athletes, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire AXA Sigorta family, especially Yavuz Ölken, for this valuable partnership.”
