27th HDI Sigorta Sadri Alışık Theatre & Cinema Actor Awards Presented

The 27th HDI Sigorta Sadri Alışık Theatre and Cinema Actor Awards, which brought together different generations of the theatre and cinema worlds on the same stage for the 27th time, were presented at a ceremony held at the Atatürk Cultural Center. The evening celebrated outstanding actors of the year and saw special awards presented to their recipients, while masters who passed away this year were commemorated with applause. The evening, enriched by Zuhal Olcay’s performance, concluded with the song “Lüküs Hayat,” accompanied by footage of Zihni Göktay on stage.

Held for the 27th time this year, the Sadri Alışık Theatre and Cinema Actor Awards, which generate great excitement in the cinema and theatre worlds every year, were held with HDI Sigorta as the naming sponsor. One of Türkiye’s longest-running awards organizations in theatre and cinema, the event recognizes achievements exclusively in acting and was attended by numerous figures from the worlds of art, culture and business.

Special Awards Presented

At the 27th HDI Sigorta Sadri Alışık Theatre and Cinema Actor Awards, the Honor Award in theatre went to Yıldız Kültür, while the cinema Honor Awards were presented to Suzan Avcı and Salih Güney. The Çolpan İlhan Women Who Add Value to Art Award was presented to Suna Keskin, one of the masters of Turkish theatre. In the cinema category, the Jury Special Award went to Tansu Biçer and Özgü Namal for their performances in the film “Sarı Zarflar,” while the Ekrem Bora Most Promising New Actor of the Year Award was presented to Merve Asya Özgür for her performance in “O da Bir Şey mi?”. In the theatre category, the HDI Sigorta Special Award was presented to the Museum of Monologues (Monologlar Müzesi), which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The Theatre Jury Award for a Solo Performance went to Gül Doğa Selvi for “Aşağıdaki Pencere” and Onur Ünsal for “Bir Kadının Kavgaları ve Dönüşümleri.”

A Special Performance by Zuhal Olcay

At the ceremony hosted by Yekta Kopan, the traditional musical performance segment of the Sadri Alışık Awards continued this year with Zuhal Olcay. Olcay added a special touch to the evening with her voice and performance.

Masters Remembered with Applause

The sense of remembrance and loyalty at the heart of the Sadri Alışık Awards’ 27-year tradition was also reflected in one of the evening’s most special moments. Serhat Kılıç, Gülsen Tuncer, Haldun Dormen, Kadir İnanır and Zihni Göktay, among others, as well as all the esteemed figures who passed away this year and left their mark on Turkish theatre and cinema through their contributions, unforgettable roles and the value they brought to the stage, were remembered with respect and longing.

One of the most emotional moments of the evening was dedicated to the memory of Zihni Göktay. The master artist, who holds a special place in the memory of Turkish theatre, once again met the audience through footage of his appearance on the Sadri Alışık Awards stage years ago. Following the footage of Göktay on stage, the winners returned to the stage holding their awards as the song “Lüküs Hayat” was performed.

Kerem Alışık: “Loyalty Is the Homeland of Our Family”

At the awards ceremony, which began 27 years ago to keep alive the memory of master actor, comedian, director, poet and painter Sadri Alışık, Kerem Alışık, General Artistic Director of the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center, also commemorated the artists we lost this year in his speech.

Alışık said: “Isn’t it strange? Last year, dear Serhat Kılıç and Gülsen Tuncer, our dear sister, left this stage saying ‘see you again.’ The ‘see’ part is gone, and now we are left only with ‘you’… When our loved ones close their eyes, we feel cold. They leave us, but we cannot leave them. We cannot say that they have gone to our hearts; our hearts still know us with them. And let it be so, because that is how it is…”

Speaking about the origins of the awards, Alışık continued:

“The HDI Sadri Alışık Awards were born from the pain of two bleeding hearts, a mother and a son, after our father went far away. When we held the first ceremony, it seemed almost a century away to me that we would be able to hold these ceremonies for 27 consecutive years. Today, I understand that it was actually as close as a moment. Remembering is a way of meeting. Every year, we take pride in meeting both our fellow professionals and you, our dear art-loving friends; in being part of the joy and excitement of our distinguished nominees; in bringing the older and younger generations together; and in commemorating all our masters, those who have left us and those who remain. Loyalty is the homeland of our family. This warm, genuine and sincere ceremony is the product of longing, loyalty and a tribute of respect. And it is meaningful because of you.”

In his speech, Kerem Alışık thanked the naming sponsor HDI Sigorta, the theatre and cinema jury members who serve on a voluntary basis, and the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center family.

Firuzan İşcan: “We Greatly Value Supporting Artists’ Work”

HDI Sigorta CEO Firuzan İşcan said: “At the heart of insurance lies the ability to protect people’s present while enabling them to look to the future with greater confidence. We believe that social trust is also strengthened through culture, art and sports, and through the value we add to our people and society. With this understanding, we are very happy to continue our partnership with the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center, which began 10 years ago, today as the naming sponsor of the HDI Sigorta Sadri Alışık Theatre and Cinema Actor Awards. We greatly value supporting artists’ work, opening up opportunities for artistic production, and contributing to the transmission of the cultural heritage represented by Sadri Alışık to future generations. This year, we are also particularly pleased to present the HDI Sigorta Special Award to the Museum of Monologues, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary and contributes to independent theatre through its distinctive theatrical approach centered on human stories and the creative opportunities it provides for young writers and actors.”
