Strong Cooperation Between Halkbank and Türkiye Sigorta for Women Entrepreneurs
Türkiye Sigorta, the pioneer of the insurance sector, and Halkbank, one of our country’s long-established banks, have signed the ''Kadın Acentelerle Büyüyoruz'' [Growing with Women Agents] project. Within the scope of the cooperation, it is aimed that 500 women entrepreneurs will become insurance agents within three years.
The new cooperation between Türkiye Sigorta and Halkbank strengthens women entrepreneurship. Within the framework of the project, it is aimed to enable women entrepreneurs to access financial resources, mentorship, and sectoral knowledge, and to contribute to the increase of women entrepreneurship and employment. As part of the project, the process for women entrepreneurs to become Türkiye Sigorta agents through Halkbank will be facilitated.
The project targets women entrepreneurs under the age of 40 who have established their companies or are in the process of establishment. Women entrepreneurs who hold an agency authorization certificate and have completed company establishment or transfer within a maximum of the past 12 months will be able to apply to the project to become Türkiye Sigorta agents. Candidates who have not yet established their companies may apply if they are graduates of four-year insurance-related departments of universities; graduates of two-year insurance-related departments with at least two years of professional experience; or graduates of any four-year department with at least 18 months of professional experience.
Within the scope of the project, which will provide mentorship, commission discounts on letters of guarantee, credit card and POS facilities, and workplace start-up loan support, it is aimed that 100 women entrepreneurs will open agencies in the first year, that 500 agencies will be reached by the end of three years, and that employment will be created for at least 1,000 people through this initiative. Applications can be submitted via the Halkbank and Türkiye Sigorta websites until March 10, 2026.
Halkbank General Manager Osman Arslan made the following statements regarding the project:
''Our starting point in implementing this project was recognizing that there is significant potential for women’s representation in the insurance sector and that the existing gap in this area can be addressed through the right support mechanisms. By identifying this need, we have designed an inclusive model that will enable women to participate in the sector in a stronger and more sustainable way.
Our Bank supports the project with both cash and non-cash financing solutions that women agents will need. With the financing package to be offered by our Bank specifically for the project, with an upper limit of TRY 1 million per women agent, we aim to enable women entrepreneurs to make a solid start to their businesses. Within the scope of the package, we will offer cash loans with a total maturity of 36 months, including a 6-month grace period, at the advantageous interest rates we apply for women entrepreneurs. In addition to the cash loan, we will also put into service the Paraf Üreten Kadın Kredi Kartı [Paraf Producing Women Credit Card] to be used for payments, as well as an agency letter of guarantee product with an upper limit of TRY 100,000. Furthermore, we will offer our Paraf Üreten Kadın POS product [Paraf Producing Women POS] to women agents with an advantageous commission rate.''
Türkiye Sigorta General Manager Taha Çakmak also shared the following remarks in his evaluation of the cooperation: ''Since the day we were established, we have carried out all our efforts based on ‘trust,’ which is the fundamental value of insurance. This trust gains even greater meaning where women are present. As an institution, we attach great importance to increasing and strengthening women entrepreneurship in our sector and to contributing to women’s employment. The figures clearly demonstrate this approach of ours. Of our total 3,795 agencies, 1,253 are managed by women entrepreneurs. This picture reveals how strong the role and effectiveness of women in the insurance sector are and highlights the potential of this project.''
Within the scope of this project, which we have implemented through the strong cooperation of two major institutions, we aim to support women entrepreneurs. As part of the project, we facilitate the agency establishment processes of our women entrepreneur agents, provide training and mentorship in the field of insurance, and offer a 50% discount on agency guarantees. At the same time, through this project, we are proud to contribute to increasing women entrepreneurship and women’s employment, as well as to social development. We hope that this meaningful project, which we are carrying out together with Halkbank, will reach many women entrepreneurs in a way that shapes not only today but also the future, and will pave the way for inspiring success stories.''
