MetLife Turkey employees continue to be ambassadors of kindness through volunteering projects

MetLife Turkey employees took part in MetLife's “Purposeful Volunteering: Donations for 90 Days” initiative to improve the quality of life of children, families and communities in need.

MetLife Turkey volunteers took part for the second time in the “Purposeful Volunteering: Donations for 90 Days” initiative launched in 2020 and led by the MetLife Foundation. The global initiative allowed MetLife employees to participate from the safe environment of their homes during the pandemic to meet vital needs. Thus, for two years, a total of about 300 MetLife Turkey volunteers performed hundreds of hours of volunteering activities in the safe environment of their homes.

Emphasizing that social responsibility projects provide a great opportunity to be useful to society and to be an ambassador for good, MetLife Turkey General Manager Deniz Yurtseven said: “We were aiming to continue the participation of our employees who were unable to go out due to the pandemic and had to work from home in volunteering projects. With this goal, we took part in programs such as Special Olympics and Helping Hands in Turkey within the scope of the global project launched by the MetLife Foundation in 2020, and we continued these programs in 2021. As MetLife Turkey, we provided resources and incentives to improve the quality of life of children, families and communities in need with these meaningful initiatives that we took part in with our volunteers between 30 August and 27 November 2021.”

In 2021, more than 100 MetLife Turkey volunteers provided sports equipment to encourage children with disabilities to participate in life as part of the Special Olympics project, and to help children and families improve their health and quality of life; Within the scope of the Helping Hands project, it aimed to reach those who need a "helping hand" by preparing prosthetic hands and special bags for amputees living in developing countries.

MetLife employees from 37 countries on a global scale performed 14,384 volunteer activities and contributed 35,750 hours of volunteers within the scope of the program carried out in 2021.
