One of the standout culinary destinations enlivening the dining
scene in Asmalımescit.
The moment you step into Gün Lokantası in Asmalımescit, you’re
met with a calm and minimalist atmosphere that feels far removed
Gün Lokantası from the hustle of Beyoğlu. Marble tables and large windows
bathed in natural light add a sense of tranquility to the space. The
dishes served here leave a lasting impression not only with their
flavors but also with their meticulous presentation.
Meals are prepared over a wood fire in an open kitchen, giving you
a preview of what’s to come with their visual appeal. The design
of the restaurant engages the senses and allows you to feel the
rhythm of the kitchen—an integral part of the overall experience.
The menu, like the interior design, is simple yet rich and profound.
Dishes prepared with fresh and local ingredients successfully re-
flect Istanbul’s multicultural fabric. Signature dishes include the
olive oil-based Gün plate, salad made with Yedikule lettuce, and
lamb brain served with chimichurri sauce. The deep aromas of
meats cooked over oak wood fire are a testament to the culinary
craftsmanship behind them. Each dish is presented with care and
elegance, deserving of applause.
At Gün Lokantası, which also evokes the nostalgic charm of old
Beyoğlu, attentive staff and thoughtful service are as memorable
as the dishes themselves. The restaurant operates from Monday
to Saturday between 12:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., and is closed on
Sundays. Only guests aged 12 and above are accepted.
At its new location, La Boucherie seamlessly blends gastron-
omy with art.
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Emirgan Group has opened
La Boucherie Depo in Levent, bringing a fresh perspective to
Istanbul’s dining scene. Shaped under the leadership of Umut
Evirgen, the venue merges with the vision of Tolga Çinkitaş,
who brings over 30 years of industry expertise, offering a culi- La Boucherie Depo
nary experience intertwined with artistic expression. Keeping
up with the pulse of the city, La Boucherie Depo stands out
with its striking signage, reminiscent of an old cinema theater.
The venue welcomes guests with a different gastronomic and
entertainment concept every day. On four days of the week,
visitors can embark on a 12-course tasting menu crafted by
Chef Yalçın, providing a unique culinary journey. On Friday
and Saturday nights, guests can enjoy a rich cocktail menu
and exclusive DJ performances, setting the rhythm for the
night. Every Thursday, the “Mavi Gün” (Blue Day) concept
brings the finest flavors of Aegean and Mediterranean cui-
sine, complemented by traditional Greek mezes and live bou-
zouki music. For those seeking a more dynamic atmosphere,
“Mavi Gecesi” (Blue Night) on Wednesdays features stage
performances accompanied by a 10-piece orchestra, under the
musical direction of Alex Panayotidi. But the surprises at La
Boucherie Depo don’t end there! After an immersive dinner
theater experience, guests can pass through a hidden tunnel
connecting to Chicki Boom via Somer Sivrioğlu’s restaurant,
Efendy, seamlessly transitioning into an electrifying nightlife
experience.
