Tur Assist has announced the acquisition of İMECE Destek, a company that has successfully provided healthcare authorization services for over ten years. Operating in the assistance sector in Türkiye since 1996, Tur Assist has become the country’s most extensive assistance service network. With İMECE now part of the group, the company will continue its journey under the title TUR ASSIST SAĞLIK, moving forward in the healthcare support services field with greater strength and stability.
During the handover ceremony, RS Holding Chairman of the Board Ünal Ünaldı and İMECE Chairman of the Board Muhittin Yurt shared their thoughts on the acquisition decision. With this move, Tur Assist—already Türkiye’s most widespread assistance provider—has acquired İMECE, which also holds the most extensive network in the healthcare sector. The company is opening a new chapter, aiming to bring innovative healthcare services and a fresh perspective to its stakeholders, while continuing to add value to the insurance sector.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tur Assist CEO Timur Selçuk Turan expressed their satisfaction with the acquisition, stating: “As we expand Tur Assist’s service portfolio, we aimed to establish a presence in the healthcare field—a sector open to growth and transformation—and to provide authorization services to insurance sector clients. For this purpose, we brought İMECE, the most experienced and successful company in the field, into our group. The reason we approached İMECE with an offer was their deep knowledge of the sector and customers, as well as their strength and experience in meeting expectations. We believed that, with the synergy of Tur Assist, we could take their products, services, and technology to even greater heights.”
RS Holding Chairman of the Board Ünal Ünaldı also shared his views and assessments regarding the acquisition decision. “As the Automotive Group, alongside our goal of providing 360-degree service, our new strategy is to establish an Assistance Group. In addition to our leadership in auto assistance, we planned to invest directly in home services and proceed through acquisitions in the healthcare sector. For this reason, we submitted our offer to İMECE Destek, which we believe is the most suitable company in the health field. Founder and partner Mr. Muhittin kindly welcomed our proposal and expressed his satisfaction with the company continuing under the name Tur Assist Sağlık. In the upcoming period, by leveraging the synergy of our group brands, we aim to become a standout company in the healthcare sector as well. With our corporate structure capable of offering a broad service network—particularly to the insurance sector—and by joining forces with all our team members, I believe we will strengthen an already powerful brand like İMECE even further. I hope this acquisition will be beneficial for all our employees, customers, stakeholders, and the insurance sector.
Regarding the sale, İMECE’s co-founder Muhittin Yurt stated: “We established İMECE DESTEK and IMC Sigorta ve Reasürans Brokerliği at the end of 2013. Through the synergy between the two companies, both became leading players in their fields thanks to their innovation and business approach. Given the scale both companies have reached, we believed it was time for them to move forward separately. By considering the offer from Tur Assist, one of the industry’s leading companies, we believed this would help build a structure capable of providing the most extensive and ambitious solutions and services for all branches of insurance within our industry. From this point forward, İMECE will continue its journey under the name Tur Assist Sağlık, now equipped with significantly broader innovation capabilities, and will remain a leading company in its field.
As a member of the board of the new structure, I personally guarantee the continuity of all existing working conditions and employment for our employees. I have full confidence that this new journey, now beginning as TUR ASSIST SAĞLIK, will bring even greater success.
I would like to thank all our colleagues, especially our executives, who have contributed to our company and walked this path with us for over ten years.
Following the approval of the Competition Authority and the completion of registration procedures, İMECE’s co-founder Muhittin Yurt will continue to serve as a Board Member of Tur Assist Sağlık for a period of three years. During the restructuring phase, the CEO position will be held by Tur Assist’s current CEO, Timur Selçuk Turan. |
