Anadolu Sigorta, Türkiye’s first national insurance company, celebrated its 100th anniversary on Friday, April 11, with an event held at Zorlu Performing Arts Center. The evening featured the performance “Yüzyıllık İmza” [Signature of the Century], directed and choreographed by Beyhan Murphy with musical direction by Tuluğ Tırpan. On stage, Birce Akalay, Salih Bademci, Sertab Erener, Chromas, and the Cinema Symphony Orchestra delivered a performance reflecting key milestones of the Republic’s history and of Anadolu Sigorta. The “Yüzyıllık İmza” [Signature of the Century] show, enriched with AI-powered digital visual effects, offered the audience an unforgettable experience.
Anadolu Sigorta, Türkiye’s first national insurance company, founded in 1925 with the signature of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, celebrated its 100th anniversary on Friday, April 11, with a special performance titled “Yüzyıllık İmza” [Signature of the Century] held at Zorlu Performing Arts Center.
Bringing together prominent figures from the business world, insurance sector, civil society, and media, the evening presented the story of Anadolu Sigorta—intertwined with the history of the Republic—through music, dance, and digital visual shows. The event, directed by stage artist and choreographer Beyhan Murphy with musical direction by Tuluğ Tırpan, featured unforgettable performances by renowned artists and groups such as Birce Akalay, Salih Bademci, Sertab Erener, Chromas, and the Cinema Symphony Orchestra.
Stage shows enriched with AI-powered animated digital visuals brought Anadolu Sigorta’s journey from past to future to life, while events and success stories that left a mark in the history of the Republic were portrayed through the enchanting touch of art. The milestones in Anadolu Sigorta’s 100-year history—such as the company’s first major challenge, the Ankara Fire, the passing of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, major fires, earthquakes, economic transformations, and social developments—were presented to the audience with emotional storytelling accompanied by music and dance performances. Social responsibility projects initiated by Anadolu Sigorta to create sustainable societal value, such as “Bir Usta Bin Usta” [One Master, a Thousand Apprentices] and “Ormanın Gözleri” [Eyes of the Forest], as well as the company’s modernization while preserving its roots in the digital age, its view of insurance not merely as a business but as a promise to society, and its deep embrace of Anatolia in all its dimensions were among the defining themes of the night.

In her speech, Anadolu Sigorta Chairperson of the Board Füsun Tümsavaş emphasized that the history of Anadolu Sigorta is the story of the Republic’s financial independence with the following words: “Every great achievement has a story. Ours began exactly 100 years ago. Anadolu Anonim Türk Sigorta Şirketi was one of the first subsidiaries of Türkiye İş Bankası, which was established at the will and directive of the Great Atatürk. The young Republic’s first bank, under the visionary leadership of Celal Bayar, undertook a historic mission and brought the Republic’s first domestic insurance company to life on March 8, 1925. Thus, the foundation of the national insurance industry was laid. This evening, dear guests, we will step into a time tunnel to revisit the key moments of this story and meet its unsung heroes. Because this is not just our story. It is also the story of the economic independence of our Republic.”

Anadolu Sigorta General Manager Z. Mehmet Tuğtan stated: “The story of Anadolu Sigorta began in 1925. The authors of this story built not just an institution, but a system of values. If we have been able to carry their legacy into the present day, it is because we have truly embraced those values. With the ‘Yüzyıllık İmza’ [Signature of the Century] performance, we return to the beginning of this journey. The year is 1925. The young Republic is filled with the excitement of transformation. Anadolu Sigorta has moved from Ünyon Han to the 4th Vakıf Han in Bahçekapı. Every detail presented in this performance is drawn from a true story.”
In his speech, Tuğtan also touched on the present-day Anadolu Sigorta, stating: “With nearly 3,000 agents, 1,800 employees, and our digital channels, we are a large family serving every corner of Türkiye. Our founding date, March 8, also coincides with International Women’s Day. This is no mere coincidence. With 52 percent of our workforce made up of women, Anadolu Sigorta is also a pioneer of gender equality in employment.”
As Anadolu Sigorta enters its second century, it continues its journey with a focus on sustainability, digital transformation, and social development. While the gala evening served as a meaningful occasion to celebrate this vision and share hopes for the future, Anadolu Sigorta’s 100th anniversary celebrations told not only the story of a company, but also that of Türkiye’s economic and social development.
