While climate change
affects the future
of the world, it also
negatively affects
human health
The climate crisis is not only the problem
of the future, but also of the present. At
the same time, this crisis, which we call a
cultural crisis, also deals a great blow to
human health…
According to some data released by NASA in 2019, the global
temperature has increased by 10C since 1880, according to
136 years of records, 17 of the 18 years marked as the hot-
test year have been experienced since 2001, the arctic ice has
increased by 10% every decade. It is known that the sea level
decreased by 13.2 millimeters every year, and the level of CO2
in the air reached its highest level in 650 thousand years. Ac-
cording to the data of the World Meteorological Organization
and the Copernicus Climate Change Program, July 2019 was
the hottest July among the data reached, including the periods
before industrialization. (1.2 0C warmer)
These negative ecological changes and the negative course on
the climate also increase the health ecosystem and the neg-
ative course on human health. According to the data of the
World Health Organization, 60 thousand deaths occur every
year in disasters associated with weather events, especially in
developing countries. It is predicted that this figure will exceed
250 thousand people every year between 2030 and 2050. In
addition, the impact of climate change on health is not only
caused by natural disasters. Of these 250 thousand deaths, 38
thousand will be caused by extreme temperatures, 48 thousand
will be caused by diarrhea, 60 thousand will be malaria and 95
thousand will be caused by childhood diseases.
